You might be invited to attend the police station for what is called a “voluntary interview.” This means you are not under arrest, but the interview is still serious. Anything you say can be used as evidence, just like in a normal interview after arrest.
Even though it is called voluntary, you should never go alone. You still have the right to free legal advice and to have a solicitor with you throughout the interview.
We can speak to the police on your behalf before the interview, find out what it is about, and advise you on the best way to deal with the questions you may face. Having a solicitor with you helps protect your rights and can prevent misunderstandings that might harm your case later.
If you are invited to a voluntary interview, contact us straight away so we can support you from the start.
