Summary of current role
Brian is a Police Station Accredited representative and Legal Clerk in the Kirwans Criminal Department and has worked in Criminal Law since 1998 working on all types of criminal matters from Police Station attendance to Magistrates' Court/Crown Court proceedings.
Brian’s approachable manner, attention to detail and firsthand experience of prosecution processes (through his role working for the Crown Prosecution Service) ensure that he is ideally positioned to offer expert advice and assistance in defending clients across a wide variety of criminal matters.
Brian worked for the Crown Prosecution Service gaining invaluable experience of the Criminal process through an assortment of different positions within the organisation. In the last ten years at the CPS, Brian worked as an Associate Prosecutor where he would present prosecution cases before the Magistrates' court as an advocate.
Brian completed his Accredited Police Station representative course during his recent role as a Legal Clerk. During this time he successfully prepared all trial cases from the Police Station to the Magistrates' Court.
Graduated from LJMU in 2008 with a 2:1 Hons degree in Law.
He is currently an Associate member of CILEX and is completing the Graduate Fast Track Diploma through CILEX.

Brian’s professional highlight to date is working on a complex criminal matter involving a youth offender which was dealt with in the Crown Court.
Brian provided Police Station representation on this matter on three separate occasions. The Youth Offender was a vulnerable individual and mainly due to the advice Brian provided at the Police Station and the work Brian did on file when the case reached the Crown Court it was dismissed on a submission of no case to answer.
