Summary of current role/areas of expertise
Carl is a Solicitor, Higher Court Advocate and an Accredited Police Station representative working within the Criminal Department at Kirwans. Carl has many years of experience in various areas of law including Criminal Law, Road Traffic Offences and financial litigation including Proceeds of Crime.
Carl’s role is to provide client’s guidance on their respective cases and to advise and manage the advancement of client cases in a variety of criminal trials at the Magistrates' Court and the Crown Court. He is also on hand to provide support and legal expertise in assisting Kirwans Court Advocates for all criminal trials.
Whilst serving in the Armed Forces, Carl completed a Law Degree with the Open University before attending the University of Law to complete the Legal Practice Course whilst employed with Greater Manchester Police in the Road Traffic Collision Investigation Unit. Carl went on to work for a number of Criminal Defence practices and also a large banking group investigating financial claims before joining the Kirwans Criminal department.

Carl has had many professional highlights throughout his legal career including conspiracy drugs cases at the Crown Court and played a significant role in a murder trial which resulted in a not guilty verdict on the grounds of self defence.
