Summary of current role/areas of expertise:
Leanne is an experienced Criminal Solicitor working within Kirwans Crime department. Her areas of expertise include trial advocacy and representing clients with mental health issues. Leanne has also represents Youth offenders who have had little or no experience in the judicial system.
Leanne guides clients throughout all stages of the criminal process- from the initial investigation at the Police Station to advocacy at the Magistrates' Court. She has also conducted Judge in Chambers bail applications and Appeals against sentence at the Crown Court.
Leanne completed her Training Contract in Chester. Shortly after qualifying in December 2009 she joined Cobley’s Solicitors where she worked for over six years before joining Kirwans as a Duty Solicitor and Police Station Representative in March 2016.

In a previous role, Leanne was given the responsibility of supervising her colleague throughout their Police Station Accreditation qualification within a short time frame. Her experience and understanding of client representation at the initial Police Station stage provided the ideal platform for her colleague to become a successful accredited Police Station Representative.
Leanne also notes representing a client in a complex criminal matter at the Youth Court in relation to a serious robbery with many aggravating features. Her expert representation resulted in her client’s trial being conducted at the Youth Court rather than the Crown Court.
