Matt is a specialised motoring offence lawyer with an expertise in Road Traffic law. He advises on legal loopholes to avoid conviction and make legal arguments to the court to avoid disqualification. His area of expertise covers the whole range of motoring law including defending prosecutions for speeding, drink driving, careless and dangerous driving and failing to identify a driver. He has an excellent success rate and if there is a way of keeping your license he will find it!

He is a Solicitor Advocate which means that he is qualified to represent clients in both the Magistrate’s and Crown Courts. He conducts advocacy on a daily basis in Magistrates Courts, conducting trials, bail applications and sentencing hearings in mitigation. He also represents clients in the Crown Court, conducting bail applications, appeals and sentencing hearings. He has significant experience representing individuals and companies prosecuted by agencies including the CPS, the HSE, the Royal Mail, the DVLA and the DWP. He is a member of the Duty Solicitor scheme and is also very experienced in representing clients at interview in the police station.

On a case Matt used the evidence of the Crown’s own expert witness to persuade the CPS to concede that our appeal of a drink driving conviction should be allowed. This meant that my client, having been convicted in the Magistrate’s Court, was acquitted by the Crown Court Judge, without any evidence being heard.

Matt enjoys literature and cinema and has a lifelong passion for all things Italian. He hopes that on balance, his participation in competitive sport outweighs his love of good food.
