Crown Court

Crown Court Solicitors

The Crown Court deals with the most serious criminal matters. These include murder, manslaughter, rape and robbery. Cases heard in the Crown Court have been referred from Magistrates' Courts.

The Crown Court deals with:

  • ‘Indictable-only’ cases sent for trial by magistrates’ courts
  • ‘Either way’ offences. Although these cases can be heard in a magistrates’ court, they are sent to the Crown Court if the defendant chooses a jury trial
  • Defendants convicted in Magistrates’ Courts, but sent to the Crown Court for sentencing. This can be due to the seriousness of the offence
  • Appeals against Magistrates’ Court decision

With a team of leading legal advisors, including Higher Court Advocates, Kirwans’ Crown Court Department has a wealth of expertise and experience when it comes to the most serious of criminal offences.

We represent clients across the UK, advising on offences such as murder, manslaughter, rape, drugs, conspiracies, frauds and serious assaults.
