Kirwans has unveiled a new look crime team as it prepares to take on more work in Liverpool.
The firm, which has two offices in Wirral and one in Liverpool, is splitting its crime team into three distinct areas.
Simon Simmons will head up Magistrates work, Paul Wood will oversee work in the Crown Court, while Matt Reynolds will focus on growing privately funded criminal work with a particular emphasis on motoring offences.
The new look department coincides with Kirwans winning the right to fill duty solicitor slots at Liverpool Magistrates Court and police stations in the city from this month.
The 14-strong team operates out of the firm’s offices in Prenton, Moreton and Liverpool.
Simon Gibson, Kirwans’ Managing Partner, said: “Our experienced team are already established as a leader in Criminal law in Wirral and will replicate this success in Liverpool and across the North West.
“Our Crime team’s objective is quite simply to be seen to be the law firm of choice for criminal matters.”
Simon Gibson became Managing Partner earlier this year – in the process becoming one of the youngest in the country. His appointment coincided with the unveiling of a new brand identity and website for the firm, which provides the full range of legal services for businesses and individuals.
